One of the most beautiful things to have in life (yet quite underrated in my opinion) is a pure and undefiled conscience before the Lord.
The conscience is that inner guide that God has given every man as a standard and guide for life. It’s that little tug in your heart you feel when you do what you know you’re not supposed to do.
You know it takes a healthy conscience to serve God well.
A healthy/ pure conscience is one that’s free of offence and guilt, one that is not weighed down with lust for things but free before God and men.
One with no ulterior motives, no guilt or shame, no evil plans or envy but free and happy serving the Lord and enjoying life.
A clear conscience doesn’t come by wishing it, it comes by striving for it. Even Paul the great Apostle of Christ said in Acts 24:16;
So I strive always to keep my conscience clear before God and man.
It’s a striving to always put God’s ways above your natural human tendencies.
It’s a striving to always keep the word of God in your heart and doing it no matter the circumstances.
It’s a striving to judge & correct yourself when you are going down the wrong path even when no one else sees or knows.
Giving excuses and explaining away our wrong attitudes and actions only deadens our conscience.
A pure conscience before God and man is possible
